Honors Program

There are a growing number of honors experiences for DGS students to earn academic distinction, engage in co-curricular activities, work directly with Illinois faculty, and enroll in classes that focus on the development of skills necessary for 21st century challenges.

James Scholar Honors Program

The James Scholar Honors Program encourages high achieving undergraduates to expand scholastic opportunities beyond the minimum requirements. This program recognizes students of extraordinary ability and achievement.

Dean's List

The Dean's List in the Division of General Studies recognizes students who rank in the top 20 percent. This distinction is awarded each fall and spring semester.

DGS Scholarship Opportunities

The Division of General Studies currently awards merit aid to a handful of incoming DGS students who are distinguished high school scholars and engaged students in their high schools and communities.

Campus Honors Program

The Campus Honors Program is an innovative community of 500 Chancellor's Scholars representing every college at Illinois.
