Incomplete
Occasionally, circumstances exist that make it impossible for a student to complete a final exam or a final assignment. In cases where a legitimate circumstance is recognized an “I” grade ( Incomplete ) can be issued. An Incomplete is authorized only for end of semester extensions for final exams, final papers or for end of semester assignments. It is not intended as an extension to address a significant part of a semester's coursework.
The temporary grade of “I” can only be authorized for a DGS student by an administrator in the Campus Center for Advising and Academic Services.
An “I” grade is temporary and the incomplete work will have to be made up by the eighth week of immediate subsequent semester. It is the student's responsibility to contact their course instructor to develop a time frame for completion. If the work is not completed in the time frame allowed, then the “I” grade will be replaced by a grade of “F.”
In exceptional cases; a student may not be able to complete the missing work in the specified time period due to legitimate reasons such as active military service, a chronic health condition, or other sufficient causes. Such a student may be granted a limited extension by the Director of DGS.
If you believe that you require an “I” for one of your courses, please contact the Campus Center for Advising and Academic Services.
